Michael Munz, MD, FACS
Dr. Michael Munz is board certified in neurological surgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He specializes in the neurosurgical treatment of the brain and spine. Dr. Munz’s clinical interests include deep brain stimulation (DBS), minimally invasive spine surgery, carpel tunnel syndrome, movement disorders, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, brain tumors including radiosurgery with the Cyberknife, and the treatment of spinal disorders of the neck and back. Dr.Munz is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Munz received his medical degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, as well as a Master of Science with a focus on central nervous system regeneration and transplantation. Dr. Munz completed his neurosurgical training at the Montreal Neurological Institute. He completed a fellowship in neurological surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Munz completed an additional fellowship specializing in functional and stereotactic neurosurgery (treatment of movement disorders, pain disorders, and epilepsy) at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Munz has been involved as an investigator in numerous research projects and clinical trials.
