Lewis A Smith, MD, FACS
After receiving his undergraduate degree from University of Florida, Dr. Smith received his medical degree from the University of Florida School of Medicine, and completed his internship and residency at University Hospital of Jacksonville in Surgery. He was board certified in 1979.
Dr. Smith practiced as a general surgeon for over 20 years in Jacksonville, then became interested in working with back pain patients. He was Medical Director of the Back Pain Institute of North Florida from 2003 until he joined Memorial Spine Clinic in April, 2009.
Dr. Smith's professional memberships include the Duval County Medical Society, Florida Medical Association, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and North American Spine Society.
Dr. Smith is currently the Director of The Spine Clinic.
